This is a community-wide project, supported by folks from across Yarmouth County who are committed to bringing refugees to live in this area. Group members have years of experience in health care, housing, English language teaching, interpretation, education, finances and spiritual care.

Our Group was founded in 2009 and has sponsored 16 refugees since that time. The latest to arrive was a family of 3 from Ethiopia, who have experienced snow for the first time and are quickly settling-in to our community.

Thanks to the generous support of individuals, service clubs, businesses and churches, we have begun the process of bringing another Syrian family through the private sponsorship program. These cases often take several years before they can travel to Canada.

To keep up to date with our progress, to request more information or volunteer, please send a message to The Coordinator.
