One: Come;
let us go down to the Potter's House.
All: God has invited us to witness the work of the Potter.
One: The Potter
is shaping holy vessels from clay.
All: We are clay, waiting to be shaped by the Potter's hands. We have come to hear
the Potter's words.
*Hymn: #415 God, We Praise You for the Morning
Prayer
of Confession:
Creator God: you have given us the freedom to live in disobedience and the freedom to choose to return
to you. We confess that there are times when we follow our own plans, failing to hear your holy word. We confess there are
times when we don't want to have a change of heart or mind. As you reworked a clay vessel in the sight of Jeremiah, so we
ask today that you rework us, too. Amen.
